Tiny Knots, Patience and Delicate Lace

Tatting is a disappearing a art.
Did you know that many years ago this skill helped women support their families?
Fine threads and tiny knots made exquisite lace sought by the wealthy to decorate the clothing of both men and women.

I am enamored with its beauty. and am in awe of the patience and time it must have taken to create.

My mother knew this skill and I do have lace made by her,
This lace I purchased this lace on Ebay.

This lace came with this note.
Grandmother Ward was very skilled.

Look how even each loop is.
How many hours do you think it took to make this beautiful lace?
There is no raveling and starting again--precise work.
I love it but it is not something I want to do---I'm leaving this skill to my sister Lewana.

Moo-rry Christmas

If someone you know loves cows
and you make cookies and you happen to have little cow cookie cutters.....
Then you must make some little cows and a barn and some Christmas trees.

You must poke holes in a wreath cookie and see if you can make them stand up.

Take pictures from all angles, pack in a small box at least 3 times to get the perfect fit
and send via Special Sister Transport to Maine.

Large cows must be rowed up as a herd..

Add small Santa doll, made a few days before, to the photo shoot.

Wishing you all a very
Moo-rry Christmas!
Specially made for Sherry and Joe

Pink Summer

“Because there's nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it's sent away.”
